6/10 ledge

Brought three of my buddies along and headed straight out to fish the outcrop and put lines in around 160’ at 730am. Started working our way out deep and ran into scattered weeds too thick to fish through so we pulled up, ran through it, and put lines back in around 230’. Picked up our first dolphin not long after (nice 30-35lb bull) who gave us one heck of an acrobatic aerial show. Trolled around between 230’ and 340’ for a few more hours only catching one more 15lb cow so we started working back in shallow to check on that rip with the weeds in 180’ to see if it had started to form up some and it did. It was still a little scattered around so we pulled in lines and eased up to the larger patches to look for schoolies and got into em thick. Had a bunch of fun with them for an hour or so on lighter tackle, slung 4 nicer ones in the box and released the rest, and headed in to 90’ area around noon to sibiki up some live bait and pick up some bottom dwellers. Got over the bottom, got plenty of live bait, and got worked by big amberjack for another two hours. Couldnt get our bait to the bottom because the Reef Donkeys were so thick. Headed to the hill around 230 and back at the marina by 4. Overall Six dolphin in the box. It wasn’t the most epic of days but still fun because i got to see two friends who had never been trolling offshore catch their first dolphin.
