Headed straight out and little south on a hot beautiful ocean. Lines in around 140’ and snagged a few decent fins. Slowed down so we picked up for short run to about 220’ where we found a nice weedline. Had a mystery bite on the planner straighten the hook! Ouch! Found the peanuts in force. Friend had his spear gun so we got out and shot a few while another bud bailed em into the box. I have never done that before and dam its fun! Any body have a decent gun they want to get rid of let me know. Had our fun there and went to hit some bottom. First 5 min on the #'s buddy is doing his best to stay in the boat. A bit latter I sink the gaff into the day maker 32lb (on my boga)Gag! Biggest one I have ever seen in person. Headed to the hill shortly there after.

Nice going on the Gag. I thing I was beside you when you guys hauled that beast on board.Seemed like the grouper were on fire Sat. as we kept 14 with the biggest being 12 lb. I hope you guys did’nt think I was trying to steal #'s, I was trying to see how close you were to some #'s I already have.Was wondering if the snapper you caught were Genuines or B-liner? I’ve caught alot of big Genuines there in the past. Again congrats on the Gag.

RE, no worries man…we were actually stealling your #s…We caught a few Genuines there but that was the only Grouper we caught. We really didnt bottom fish for long though. That one was plenty. I don’t think my buddy that caught it wanted to do it again real soon anyway. I’ll post a pic when I get a chance… No body has a spear they want to part with?
