Fished the Red Banks in 120’ waiting for the stretch to 11 second intervals so we could push deeper for some trolling or Deep dropping at the SW Banks later in the morning… never happened. So we filled 110 qts with BSB, B-liners, and nice size Triggers. Wrapped it up at 1:30 for the 2.5 hour ride in which actually improved to 2.4’ at 4 seconds…
Glad to hear a 5 man crew from a capsized catamaran was picked up by a fishing vessel out of Georgetown.
we stayed in 140’ and were hoping for the 11 seconds as well… ended with 5 dolphin and 1 wahoo… i dont think i could have held my stomach for long bottom fishing… Nice mess of fish!
We did land some interesting specimens: XL White Grunts (22-24"), alot of big Pinks(threw them back), and a 6ft sandbar shark on a bite size piece of squid…go figure… may have ate the fish that ate…
quote:We've caught some of the biggest white grunts I've ever seen this year also. Guess it's from the lack of pressure over the last several years. Nothing wrong with a mess of bottom fish!

It never did calm down out there last Saturday. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one out there limping home in the wind. Looks like you filled your bag nicely.
Good job Stu! One day, we’ll get back out there again.
