left out edisto around 5:00 and got slammed dunked for the 2nd half of the ride. lines in around 8 just shy of the ledge and had a cuda to start of with. eased out to around 230’ and found a lil weedline. ran across a pile of schoolies. pretty cool to watch them pile in on the dredge! messed around with them for a few. kept a few and released a few. started dragging shortly after and Zzzzzzzz. double knockdown we thought until we realized the stud was greedy and ate 2 baits before knowing he was hooked! 30 minutes later and a heck of a tangle, he made it to the boat! scale at the dock was showing around 52lb. biggest phin i have ever seen! after that nada. called it quits around 1 with a smooth ride in. pics to come tomorrow.

Excellent fish. The last picture really shows the size, tail bent on the dock, fish held tight to body and dang near as tall as you. Thats a genuine 50+ pound fish, very nice!
Thanks to everyone for the kind words! I do alot more reading than posting on this site. All the high up posters, keep up the threads! Offshore fishing is the best sport IMO and i enjoy reading the reports and pictures of others success. Just wanted to give a lil something back for a change.
