6/15 quick report

Hit the water Sunday afternoon with the wife for a little inshore action. Grabbed plenty of peanut size Hadens by Morris and also caught a ribbon fish in the net.

Headed up the wando to hit some feeder creeks and docks past 526.

Broke out the older, lighter tackle as my wife had been complaining that the newer outfits were too powerful and reds weren’t challenging enough…First taker puts up a good fight for her and wound up being a 16 inch red. I knew then she was in for it once a big one hits.

Bite was steady from mid low to low Hadens on the bottom. Had 3 overshot takers 24- 25 inches with two breakoffs under the dock. All great fights on 3000’s with medium to light rods.

Also caught 3 trout at 15, 18, and 21 inches. The 15 incher coughed up its stomach like a reef dweller. I couldn’t get it to go back in. Any suggestions to remedy this? The larger ones were released, but kept the 15 as it didn’t make it.

i can’t help myself…hot grease
