6-16 Spanish

Had some fun with the Spanish Monday off the jetties. It lasted about 45", and I caught 10-12, two of which were real nice size; ’ lost quite a few.

These would not hit Clark spoons trolled, but liked the lead jigs with shiny coating, casted. One of the good things about those jigs is they can be thrown a long distance.

Saw no kings amongst them.

On our ride out on 6-17, we saw lots of schools of spanish hitting the surface, some even were jumping clear out of the water. We never could get close enough to throw our lures into the schools. I bet we saw 2-3 dozen different large schools.

So they are there, you just need glass clear water to see them hitting the surface.

Good to hear. Plan on going Saturday, but it looks like the wind has other ideas. We’ll see.
