6/2/12

Picked up some mud minnows at Haddrell’s in the early morning then netted some shrimp up a tidal creek on the Wando.
On the outgoing tide the trout were attacking the mud minnows on drop offs at about 8 ft. using carolina rig. Couldn’t keep the sting rays from the shrimp. Once the recreational boaters came out I left the wando and headed up Beresford’s creek. Finally picked up a slot red that fought hard on an incoming tide in front of a visible oyster bed with mud minnow on carolina rig.
On my way back in I tried one last spot on the incoming tide along the grass line and hooked up with a large trout that fought more like a red!
All fish released to fight another day.
Good to find the trout more plentiful this year.
Overall a good day on the water except for a 40’ offshore boat that almost ran over me in the harbor on the way back in!

Can’t make chicken salad from…

Pretty fish! Welcome to the site!
