Headed out the end of the jettys at 5:30 only to be greeted by the washing machine. Went out about 5 miles and decided it would be a long ride. Decided to drop a couple stretch 30’s a troll the shipping channel. Had one nice king to the boat and pulled the hook. Pushed out to about 60’ and saw tons of flyers so we deployed the spread and tried to make something happen but no dice. Finally were able to push out 75’ and trolled toward commanche. We picked up a king and a cuda on the way there and a king and 2 dolphin on the way back. Finally headed in with a white knuckle ride back and made a stop just outside the jettys. Lots of birds diving so we deployed the spread once again 3 miles from the rocks and caught a 25# and a 30# king. Saw a pretty good storm so we headed in with the lightning and rain. At least the boat got a good rinse on the way home.

Final tally:
4 kings
2 dolphin
1 cuda
56 beers

56 beers:smiley:

might as well be dead up here if i cant find that live bottom

That may be a new boat record on beers consumed. Nice job bro!

Almost forgot, pulled the hook on about 7 fish. Not sure what was going on.

Maybe not getting a good hook set because of rough water, your trolling speed may have been a little slow. I have had that problem before. That is armchiar Quaterbacking. Better luck on your next trip.
