6/21 afternoon fishing report

On lake at 3:30 - NE wind at 9 and steady. Scouted a while and fished around C3 to B-3. Used two drift socks to make it fishable…Marked them from 30 feet to 70 feet down…caught fish in 50 foot to 115 foot of water depth. Better bites in the deep water near sunset. Keepers ranged from 22" - 23". 8 keepers total (1 released) and 4 other shorts around 20". Couple others got off at the boat to make it 5 and done officially, so we called it a day. Lot of fun.
Few screen shots added - the time clock was incorrect though…it was later than it shows. (Sorry for the one big picture…I can’t seem to get that one to cooperate.)

Thanks for the report. My engine has glitches so for now reports are the only way I have to get “out there”

Thanks for the report Billy. Glad you caught fish in that wind.

Thanks - no problem, guys. Yeah, the wind was constant and tough to deal with - glad I had my wind socks.
July is youth tournament month, so hopefully we’ll see some reports posted as we get closer to it.

Just for fun, I experimented with a few rods this trip…all with the same line and light leaders…the medium weight rods didn’t catch anything early in the afternoon (pulled on and let go), the white striper edition ugly sticks & ugly stick wonder rods caught their fair share but the lighter rods that I had did the best. I’m sold. Seems like they are in their summer pattern “bite” now. Little bit finicky on the bites early in the afternoon - but as it got closer to dark, the fish were really hammering. Didn’t seem to matter as much then. Either way, I am going to invest in a few extra light rods before I go out next trip.
