Left the Bristol with Mike and Ben around 4:45 and headed north. Ocean was slick! Saw some nice water in about 135ft and contemplated stopping (been catching some nice fish at that depth) but kept motoring on to deeper water. Stopped at about 200ft and put the spread out only to keep getting picked at by the birds. (**() birds! Anyway, picked up a few phins and headed offshore.
Picked up a few more phins in the 800-1,000 ft range then came back in some and found a nice weedline in 550ft. We were making one last pass on the weedline and then BAM! The Tiagra 50 sounded like it was about to explode! Blue Marlin on! Battled the Blue a little over an hour…she was tired (so was Ben) but we revived her and she swam off. Headed back in and stopped for some brief bottom. Ended the day with 10 phins, several bsbs, nice Trigger and a Blue!
Congrats! Awesome fish brother. I know you have been pouring a ton of work into that boat. Awesome to see it pay off.
