6/22. nice bull and slick seas

havent done a report in a while so…

Left IOP at 3:45 am on Saturday expecting to get our assets kicked by some nasty seas. It was the exact opposite. No wind, no chop, had lines in at 6:30am. landned a couple gaffers within an hour. Fished in 200-350 ft of water all day slightly south. Pulled a few new teasers more geared towards billfish to try and raise some, no luck in that department but ended up with 12 good sized dolphin one of which was the largest bull I have ever caught so that alone was a daymaker (43 lbs). All in all good day on the water. Looking forward to going again next weekend, weather permitting.

Nice haul guys. That is the deepest i have heard for catching a good number of dolphin in the past few weeks. Mostly heard and caught myself in 130-150. Congrats.

congrats on the trip and nice bull. the weather wasn’t so nice to us a little north. we fished out of MI and it was rather nasty offshore.

I agree, nasty at the hole. Great 25 miles and in, got worse as the day went on. We did manage three nice gaffers before we called it. Filled up with bottom fish once we got to calmer water.

Can I borrow your towel? My car just hit a water buffalo.
