My dad and I brought our 14 ft boat down to Isle of Palms during the family vacation this year so we could do some fishing. We caught a good number of whiting and spot but the highlight of the trip was my dads 31 1/2 inch redfish he caught on a grass line with a frozen shrimp at dead high tide. That was just icing on the cake compared to the time spent with my dad. He has taught me a lot over my eighteen years and I hope to keep spending time outdoors with him for many years to come. Thanks to the great members of this site for the guidance to fishing Charleston inshore!
Nice to see a team at work.
Glad i read this tonight.

congratulations!..chances are that fish hit like a freight train…Gotta love the lowcountry
The fish hit very hard and took off on one really good run a couple of smaller ones.
That’s a nice fish there. I learned a lot about fishing from my dad, and I learned a lot about my dad fishing with him. Looking in the boat there you are prepared for everything. Reminds me of myself. Keep on catching with your dad, priceless.
Cant beat that memory ! i am beyond thankful I get to fish with my dad once a week.

I wish I could fish with my dad once a week but he owns his own pest control business and this is his busy time of the year but hopefully we will be fishing most weekends this fall when I can get home from school.
Man, a nice fish and time spent with Dad. It could only get nicer if Mom had reeled one in. I used to love fishing with my Dad.
