6-27 morning

What a day. Had to wait for Angler South to open. They were short on herring. Cranking battery for the boat decided to die (good thing we carry three). The forecast SW wind at 4 was actually NE at 10-15+. But the fish were still hanging out at the point we’ve been hitting, and up until 0930 they were biting really good and then really slowed down. As long as they are there I can’t think of any good reason to go somewhere else to look for them. We didn’t catch any monsters, but most were in the 5-6 pound range, and even the shorts were close. Tallied 13 keepers and 3 shorts and one nice catfish thrown in. We release everything we catch except for the one the Capt is looking for to hang on her wall. The new fish landing gloves worked great. Thanks for the location tip Coolbreeze. They were $1.92.

Nice!..cool to see such a good ratio of keepers to shorts.

I was in Harbor Freight at lunchtime today and had to pick up a pair of those too. I had never bought any before myself, but after you posted asking about them I looked at the price on the one’s at Sportsman’s and they were about $25…and on top of that they were real stiff. I like the $2 ones from HF much better than the ones they had at SW for $25.
