Fished the 50/50 yesterday, and luckily much nicer than I expected. Headed south to a piece of ledge looking for wahoo. Looked for a wahoo all day but couldn’t make it happen–didn’t get a single hoo bite.
We found some nice bait, up top & in the water column in 220 feet, and worked it for a good part of the day. Pulled 8 or 9 dolphin off it, all nice fish. Also had a sail on the long rigger but didn’t connect. The biggest phin went 23 lbs.
Good day for meat, but no $$$. Had enough meat wrangling, ready for my first billfish of the season…
Taking it to the max…
