6/4 Trolling

Fished the Palmetto Society Redfish Championship on Saturday…had a blast (maybe a little too much fun). We left the dock about 6 am Sunday and were struggling for a while. My stomach was on the fritz all morning…

We headed south. Fished from the ledge to 300’, and the best bite was on the ledge. There was patch weed everywhere–which made the fishing tough…stuck it out and managed a dozen gaffers. The dolphin have a nice size to them this year.

Was glad to have a nice ocean.

The reds took a few drop backs but we were able to put a hook in the most of them…best hits on the naked ballyhoo on flatlines.

Haha, noted. Definitely gonna give that a try next time. Wonder if you could use them as a pitch bait for blues…
