First trip of the year for us. Put lines in se of santee banks after a snotty ride out and had the daymaker bull in about 15 minutes. Didn’t get a weight on it but it was well over 60lbs. Taquache is 6’3" and the fork of the tail was just under his chin and the filets were 5 1/2’ long. Ended the day with 5 dolphin, and 4 missed fish. All fish bit the Lehi weighted heads.

I'll be the guy drinking Pabst on a 85 montauk with a clemson flag hangin from the stern light, going about 6 knots,. . .hopefully we'll have some ladies with us, but I think that might be wishfull thinking at this point.
That fish doesn’t seem to have the girth of a 60 lb’er, but it seems to make up for it in length… That fish may have been a world record in another year if it had a chance to grow out a little more.
I could easily believe 60+ lbs on that fish because of the length, but you should have put a scale on it! Regardless, nice fish!!!
For real, Nice bull man… they definitely will put a hurtin on ya either at boatside or in the boat. I’ve seen a couple that size range be a little more than the man with the gaff can handle and I lost one in june of 06 around that size because of reel problem…maybe next time for me
