decided to make last minute decision to take off work and give em a try. Lines in at 630 around 200’ in dirty water and worked out to find a perty line and color change in 300’ along with a break on it. didn’t get a nibble until the blue water was found. picked at em until 1130 and had to get home. highlight of the day was the 40lb phin:smiley:
Country, not knocking the fish, but i call bs. Look at the offshore dis. section at the tread internet weight, that fish is 37 and it is way bigger than yours. That fish is 25lbs. Ask Hogg to send you a pic of one that we caught that day that was 46 and then tell me yours is 40.

I really dont care, I just wanted him to realize that though it is a nice fish, it is nowhere close to what he is claiming. But if yall have to make yourselves feel better by saying it is, then by all means go right ahead. Might as well say it is 50 then.
Hey maybe it had just eaten its ten LB brother.
Thats a nice big bull whatever it weighs.
thats why i never post my pics on here everybody is a critic
of something. Wrong hat , wrong fish, wrong weight, wrong technigue, wrong lure used to catch fish, wrong knife used to fillet fish,
to many fish, wrong boat, wrong temp , wrong wave height etc…
Something is always wrong. Hmmmm go figure.
thought this was a site for fisherman to support and help out other fisherman, not bash them.

Nice work, Big Country! As a new member of the “mosquito fleet”, your post gives me hope! Heading to Edisto in a week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I know it won’t be the same then, but how far out did you run to the color change? Cheers!

thanks man… i thought i heard your boat name called out on the radio a few times that day as well. seemed like most stayed in the green water. as far as that fish goes, you cant appreciate the size of it unless you saw it in person. it BARELY fit in a 6ft fish bag if that says anything
I think you help fisherman by letting them know that that is not a 40lb fish. Next thing you know, some poor guy is gonna catch a real 30 lb fish and he will come on here and tell everyone he has a state record Mahi… If you do not want people to comment on what you write on the WWW, the smart thing is not to put it on the www… those are nice fish and I am sure the OP had a nice day, unfortuneatly, neither of those facts make the fish bigger…
