Your “noobness” obviously made you miss the sarcasm in my post. No one was “fighting”, no one was “threatening”. To use your words, “Lighten up Frances”, it’s all fun and games.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

You guys can take this convo any direction you want, but I’m headed to Gander today to pick up a few assault rifles and a bag of clips.

I will report back for sure. Usually by the time things are 40-60% off, you can count on it being picked over. But I was there several weeks ago and things were only 10-20% off. They've always been way too expensive, and 20% off put them in line with "normal"...

Oh, I get it. Most retailers are notorious for that when they’re closing up shop.

In all honesty, I hate it for the people that are losing their jobs because of this move. Personally, GM never had a model that worked well in the south/southeast but they saw the success BPS was having and thought they could get a piece of that pie too. No risk, no reward but in this case, it just didn’t work. Same can be said for Cabela’s when they tried their “Outpost” stores. I hope those that are losing/have lost their jobs are able to bounce back quickly and get back on their feet.

God bless the “ignore” function.

They should have plenty of warning by now! The place has been going out of business for MONTHS!!! I wonder how they keep people working there. I can only assume that they are transient employees, or they are offering them something special to stick it out until the doors close.

Usually, they offer something (severance or something like that) to get people to hang around.

I promised to report back… I went there looking for assault rifles and clips… In hindsight, I shouldn’t have walked into the front door and yelled, “GIVE ME YOUR ASSAULT RIFLES!!!” at the top of my lungs. I was excited about 60% off, but I could have saved some time dealing with security if I would have just been more subtle…

That being said, guns were 40% off from what I saw… The only had about a dozen or so AR-style (scary black ones with rails, etc), and nothing really caught my eye. That being said, I was really looking for a cheap deer rifle, but I couldn’t find one that I really liked that didn’t look cheap. Basically I want an awesome rifle, and pay pennies on the dollar. I’m cheap like that. I seldom go deer hunting, but in the even that I go 1-2 times a year, I can’t bring myself to spend a lot of cheddar on one. Then, I looked to see if they had any Benelli’s left as you can’t have too many of those. They had 2 SBE II’s left brand spankering new for $1049. That’s a great deal. BUT, one was set up for turkey hunting (short barrell, iron sights, etc) and the other (duck hunting setup) was left handed. If anyone here is a lefty and wants a Benelli SBE 2, you had better go get it. It was pretty.

I mozied on around here and there, and really only came out with 2 spools of yozuri pink flouro ($13 each for what normally costs $32), and a crimper toolkit. I was tempted by a few other things, but I might try again in a few weeks…

That being said, 40ozReds neglected to tell us that WHITE BRAID (10lb invisibraid spiderwire) was plentiful and 60% off…

And here I am over 100 miles away. Always a bride’s maid, never a bride.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

DF, I’d pick you up some but that stuff is so daggum invisible! I don’t even know how Skinnee saw it on the peg. It had to look like a bunch of empty spools!

God bless the “ignore” function.

Don’t waste your time if your going for the braid. I cleaned it all out and already got all my trolling gear respooled.

There were literally like a gazillion spools left. I’m waiting until it hits 70% off and then I am loading up.

Yo Skindawg I thought you knew I fish power pro 16 strand, none of that spider wire stuff for me. Enterseptar you sure u qualified to operate that white braid. Last thing I need is some one having an accident.

Best…Thread…Ever…lol

2003 Key West 1720 Sportsman
2016 Ocean Kayak BG2

I GOT IT!!! I know why none of us and no one ever has seen assault rifles behind the gun counter in Gander Mountain!!! They wrapped them in white braid and given the testimonies about the invisibility qualities of white braid, once wrapped in the white braid, it made the assault rifles invisible!!!

God bless the “ignore” function.

Only 3 people died in 2016 to white braid accidents. I'll take my chances.

And that was probably because they couldn’t see it. :sunglasses:

WHITE BRAID CONTROL NOW!
