On water probably 9ish with herring that was way to small but got the job done. First spot 85’ deep fished 50’ got one run on the lines but no fish. second spot 125’ deep fished 50-60’ 21" and 23" in the boat then steely and phishin called with dead batteries. “hate when that happens” been there many times. Got them back to the dock and then headed to the now uncrowded towers (looked like a christmas tree early in the night) Found out i could keep two under 21 so tried to finish out the limit there and did just that without using the shortees. finished my limit with a 24", 22" and another 21". the depth at the towers can be tricky in order to stay out of the shorts. hope all did well that went. Planning on another trip next friday night. see ya then.

by the way; a buddy of mine called last night and said that they slayed the cats the night before and caught 3 or 4 stripers also. they were back at the landing by midnight. give me a call. my boat is charged up and ready to go.
hey murymaker, man o man, thanks for the help! felt like such a dumbazz for not charging the batteries. pretty scary feeling being dead in the water in the channel at night with no lights, radio, nothing. i feel so fortunate to have changed numbers with you friday. glad you got some good fish karma for helping us.

Father-in-law and others fished the morning of 7/12 with unbrella rigs and rebels on downriggers. Nothing for a couple of hours. They marked fish but no takers.
I guess I should add that I got one short fish and one 22"er. nothing for the phishinphan. Striper gods must be angry at him.
hey phan; i can accept you taking the blame but…i still have to look at the fact that the steely man was with you. glad you guys had the help. isn’t it ironic how when you decide to exchange numbers or meet someone new there is always a little extra karma?
do not think that i am going to fish the striper tourn on friday night. my buddy changed the big fish fry to then and i have to do the cooking. somebody better keep me in cold beer.

i think i’ll use the tourney entry fee and buy an extra battery and some jumper cables. LOL.

The drama will only end when you no longer own a boat. I enjoy fishing much more now that we fish in your boat. It used to be fish one weekend and work on the boat the next. Now I just fish. Although I will say it was not fun drifing down the middle of the lake with no lights. I may have to donate a battery stern light to the boat for emergencies like that.
