Spent the weekend up on the ICW in the McClellanville/Awendaw area at the house in Shellmore. Overall the weather was craphy but found some nice windows to fish. We were up on the 4th as well only to find the water as stained as I’ve ever seen it. My buddy’s grandad is 84 and has lived there his entire life and said only other time he’s seen it that dirty was after Hugo. Fishing sucked fat ones that week. But since the “lack” of rain since the 4th the water was in way better shape this past weekend.

Didn’t hit the water till the evening rising tide. Hit the water about 5:30 and fished 6:15 - 8:30. Caught 5 slot fish, few small flounder and a couple of lady fish. Caught all slot fish on mud minnows under a popping court. Few smaller reds and both flounder on 4" jerk shads.

Hit the water at 5:45am for the rising tide and went south again…caught 4-5 reds and a few trout before the rain soaked us. Pushed back to the house and dried out and grabbed a bite to eat. Waited for the tide to turn and the rain to push out. Left out and went north for the afternoon falling tide. Fished cape Romain area and caught 6 reds, 2 flounder, and a few more undersized trout. Ended the day with 2 limits of reds…all between 20"-23". One of the flounder was 20". 4/6 of slot fish on mm…other 2 were on DOA shrimp under cork. The flounder and trout were on Zman minnowZ with lead jig heads
Finally got into them after a few weeks of craphy water and a few unproductive trips!!
