6FT - your right it is a tough angle. The fish actualy looks smaller in the pic bc it was taken shooting down from the helm…
I have some other pics, but so many people were holding / around the fish its hard to see the true magnitude…

Flyn, nice on you, Bill Dance actualy didnt try and claim your trout. That was a grown as$ GATOR. Had to go around 8lbs.

My bad man... Didn't realize that you were waiting on me! I have no idea how big the fellow in that picture is, but judging by the dimensions of that fish, I would put it over 80 lbs. And it's so girthy at that length, I would believe you if it was higher.

Thanks man! I almost forgot to add that, that is one hell of a wahoo. Nice fish and nice work!!! And per my comments in the other thread, I would take one that big over a sailfish any day…

We weighed the “Doc” On a house scale then weighed him with the fish came up with 85 pounds.
It was pretty cool fishing with someone like Chris for the first time. I was waiting to gaff the fish and said were going to need 2 gaffs and Chris had already had the 2nd. gaff ready I stuck the fish in the head and over the top Chris came with the 2nd. gaff in the head also and that Hoo was limp after that.

Banjo - what up, I didnt put it togeather who you were untill just now.
You know the company I keep, my head is bad anyhow.
Another trip or two we’ll have it running silky smooth. I think this trip put “P” over the edge. Talked to him this am, he said he hated pulling off for work and seeing the boat at the dock. That tells me we did our job.

He could not claim that one, he did not fish with me that day. Yes the trout was very close to 8#'s

Congrats on a Hoo of a lifetime!! I concur with skinnee on this and ill even take it a step further by saying that i would take an 85+ lb. wahoo over any fish in the ocean…just hearing that drag scream just makes me happy!!

I’m straining as hard as I can in that photo to lift him off the deck, I thought I was gonna pop a vein in my head-the fish tops the current Trident Tourney which is 79# or so
