Went out yesterday with my Dad, my son and Blackangus to see what we could catch. Went North and started fishing in 100’ and caught a dolphin quick. Nothing else for a while then we started catching as many as we were losing. Got into the kings also and had them on back to back for a while. My 9 yr. old son got his first Dolphin, first king, and first Cuda. He is still excited and wants a bigger boat. Seas where a little rough but managed about 30 coming and going. Beat my Dad up a little but he still enjoyed it. It was a good day with the family and a friend. Thanks to Blackangus for helping my boy with his fish while I was clearing lines and trying to take pics.

You are not joking 23, it’s all he’s talking about now. Wanted to go back today even after getting a little sick yesterday. He’s been hooked, just worse now.
That’s great… A passion for the outdoors is great for kids. Without it in my younger days I don’t know where I would have ended up. It motivates kids to succeed. Tell him he needs to go to college and study hard, so he can get a good job so he can support his offshore fishing hobby one day. Worked for me…
That’s awesome!

Great looking kid, and great fish, comparing the fish to his size, that’s a monster! WOW is the word, congrats to your son and you; just be a little easier on dad, I beat my dad up when he was 77, just didn’t think of him; now I regret it everyday since he is gone, don’t make that mistake again for your peace of mind. Last thing, I am 66, from now on your son will see you as his hero for that trip, just don’t leave him behind very often…

Thank you all. He is a very avid outdoorsman. He loves it all, can’t leave him behind on any hunting or fishing trip. And he’s getting good at it all. Dang right idea on college, I tell him about it everyday.
Congrats and nothing beats taken kids (dad and son) fishing…good for you! How far out did you go and how much fuel did you burn?
Way to go!!! Now you will get him out during the weekends.

Went out about 30 miles, 100-110ft deep. Burned about 65 gals and had a box full of fish.
Excellent report. My sons have only had the pleasure of some nearshore fishing and about two or three times a week I get the question, “Dad, when are we going fishing again?” That is so awesome that you were able to get out there with him. I can’t wait to start catching those fish with my kids.
