7/2-7/3 report - Swordfish and more

Left Wild Dunes at 10pm on 7/2…Lines in around midnight for swords…No action all night until I started rigging baits at 5am…and the 500ft rod starting slowly clickin. After an hour long fight boated a 101 lb sword. Started trolling about 30 mins later and had a nice sailfish boatside within 15 mins of trolling. Pushed inshore for a while with no bites then caught a 43lb wahoo then a 20 lb wahoo a short time later. Ended the day w/ a little slinger. Solid 1st overnighter for Chasin Bills.

That is solid! How deep were you when you hooked into the sword if you don’t mind me asking. I’ve got to do an overnight trip this year.

Shooting fish in the face is my hobby.

Nice sword. Way to go.

great job we try 2 weeks ago zero bites on swordfish how deep did the wahoo come out of

ChasinBills, nice work!

RWL, he was most likely deeper than 500’ since swords aren’t usually bottom dwellers. One bait was down 500’, maybe another @ 700’ possibly staggered for different thermoclines. That’s how we used to do it anyway.

Nice box of fish right there. Bill and tooth slam… I had to try and name that mess of fish!
