Lines in by 630, no fish until about 830ish when we had a small mahi come out from under a little patch of weeds to take a bait. Got him boatside amd he had friends. Proceeded to put the smackdown on 15 more of his buddies with squid and spinning gear for the next twenty minutes or so. Caught two on a giant surface plug, lots of fun. No big boys, but the consensus on the boat was that a small fish earts just as good as a big one.
Had two wahoo boatside in the next hour but couldn’t close the deal. One opened up an 80lb spro swivel and the other one took a last minute run as we were leadering him and broke off. Both were quality fish. So if you catch a wahoo with a #4 planer in his mouth, I’d love my planer back. Thanks.
Bottom fished for a good while too. Couldn’t find the grouper in numbers, but managed one keeper scamp. With the new limits, we were tossing back the 17" sea bass that we were bringing up two at a time. Lots of knotheads in 120’, not a whole lot else though. The BSBs were so thick, you couldn’t really let a bait soak that long. One nice trigger and a few beeliners finished off our box for the day.
Slick calm until lunchtime, then the wind had it chopped up a little for the ride home. Fantastic day on the waterwith a great crew. I needed a good day away fishing amd just forgetting about things for a while. Thanks guys. I’ll take weather days like that whenever I can get them too!

oh Lord Penny…I might have jumped back in the water and tried to swim away…thank you for not doing that…yea, the guys would have laughed their butts off but sure enough you woulda given me a heart attack!
Funny story about that, we watched a guy in cuffs last summer jump in the water and try to swim away…that ramp never fails to deliver the entertainment.
23Sailfish, stickman, Bob and I had a great time and captain 23 put us on some good fish, top and bottom…
EDIT: and yes, catching those dolphin on spinners was a fricken blast…I bet we had 6-8 fish in the floor of the boat at one time cause they were biting so fast and furious…

Awesome pics. Id love to get out there with the Bonzo and 23. Beautiful ocean. Nice pattern there bozno. Been there done that. When I go out with Sirecks and I take the wheel, it usually is my goal to make a smiley face on the screen.
Bonzo, I have seen and used that pattern before. Ask Ricky about the time we both fell asleep on his 21 bay boat!! Wish I could have made it, glad ya’ll had fun.
