made it out last night with steelytom. this time i remembered to charge the batteries! also remembered the fishfinder/gps, the maps, the tackle box and everything else i had forgotten the last 3 or 4 trips.
made it to the water right around 7pm and started scouting. found fish over trees just south of the channel in about 120-130’ of water, fish were anywhere from 45-70’. we had a couple pull downs, a gar strike, and 3 fish hooked. mine, of course, immediately dove under the boat and got the line wrapped around the trim tab. tom landed 2, one short (right around 18-19") that was released and one nice 8# fish that took an ice bath. stayed over fish all night pretty much but they weren’t too interested in our 4" herring.

but; did you guys win,place or just draw? wihs i could have made it out but by the time i fed all of those people friday night at my buddies house me and my fishing buddy did not need to be near water any deeper than a cocktail glass.
we did not fish the tournament either. I am moving and just got in the new place friday. Plus I don’t think Phishinphan wanted to pay the fee since he has not caught a striper since March, lol.

no kidding. i can’t justify $100 entry being as horribly inconsistent as i am.
I would not say you are inconsistent, you consistently don’t catch any. hopefully things will improve
things will improve. they surely couldn’t get much worse far as phishin goes anyway.
maybe you need a bigger boat. give me a call sometime and let’s get together in my boat. i filled it up over two weeks ago and have not used it since. i need to get out and fish. catching is not that important. drinking a cold beer is important. you guys buy the bait and i bring the boat and knowledge. (o.k. so much for the knowledge.)

will probably be out there saturday day. what part of the lake were you guys fishing. i weighed in on saturday just for sh@ts and giggles. knew i didn’t have enough weight but weighed in 8.15 pounds in two fish. Again i should have listened to my insticts and made a long run. but just didn’t feel like burning the gas. from the sounds of people at the weigh in, it would have paid off. but untill next time… tight lines…

MSC winner was 21# and change
open tourney winner was just shy of 24#
that’s awfully light for 4 fish creel.
