7/22 Saluda River

Wading just below the Shandon Rapids. Caught one about 23". He hit a silver Creek Chub. Had a lot of fish swimming past but it looked like it was going to storm so I left.

The city fuzz were busting a lot of folks in the zoo lot as I was leaving.

Nice fish Bama. I’ve never waded the rivers at all. Looks fun. Hey, what were the Po-Po busting people in the lot about ? Oh yeah, what kinda bait is the chub ?

The fuzz appeared to be busting kids for drinking and searching a lot of cars, probably for drugs.

The creek chub is a topwater bait. It’s a chugbait. It has a concave face that pops when you give it a jerk.

Oh Dude, thats the best way to catch stripers. I caught one the other day on a Excaliber Super Poper. I was looking for schoolers when I saw a single hit. I cast on him, it took three stikes before I stuck him. He was a small one , but it was fun anyway. Thats exciting to see a large fish hit topwater. It’s my favorite. Thanks for the reply.

It is a lot of fun to catch them on topwaters. The one this afternoon missed once and then plastered it about two seconds later.
