7-24 fished out of edisto and decided to head to the 226. Trolled for 4 hours and hit all our good spots and had 3 knockdowns and no fish. Picked up and headed in to the Edisto Banks and caught barracuda and weeds, trolled for a while anf decided to pick up and head to our spot in 130’ where we’ve been 2 for 2 for the sails in the last 2 trips, and again nothin. decided to cut our losses and head for the hill around 330.
7-25 decided to head south after the previous days fishing so we set out for the r8 deli area. Avioded a few storms on the way and got about 1 mile from r8 and started trolling a nice weedline and picked up 2 dolphin off it. trolled around the tower with nothin but barracude and amberjack so i started trolling in the direction of the deli. Found another weedline within 1/4 mile and a huge tree floating near it. trolled around the tree 5 times and had no hits despite the huge bait balls and other fish we could see around it. Pulled up to it and stopped and there were 5 huge triple tail, or at least thats what i thought they were, they wouldnt bite a thing, then had a big cobia cruising around that we threw everything in the boat at and still nothing. After frustrating failed attempts we picked up and went to the deli area. Found some more killer weedlines and trolled them and picked up a nice wahoo and more dolphin. Kept a school by the boat and busted out the spinning tackle and caught about 10 schoolies. A giant wahoo cruised up to the boat but couldnt get him to bite either. Ocean was like glass and had a 1st timer on the boat so couldnt have asked for a better day. ended with 13 dolphin and a hoo heres a few pics
