7-26-14. Last day and finally got out

Headed out of HHI this morning to try to get a couple of snapper. The seas never calmed down and bait fish were not wanting to jump in the boat. Got lucky around midday pulled two in and a decent cobia. Got tired of getting beat up and headed in. All in all it was a great day since we were on the water.

Why is the guy in the back of the picture showing us the bait:wink::smiley:
Good going!

I’ll be (**()ed if I would get beat up after putting those groceries in the boat.

Nice red!!!

Even with a full arm extension for the camera that cobia still looks undersize…

I will agree and questioned my brother until he measured it. If it were for the guy who caught being his first fish that he ever caught It would have been a catch and release. Very surprised that we caught it considering the distance we were out fishing for Red Snapper. One good thing out of it is we have another converted fresh water fisherman.

Cobia looks 33 3/4" - nice bonus fish in the box

Way to go guys!

You know looking at it again it does look 33… Maybe the meaty snapper downsize it and it is definitely bigger than the 28 inch cobia we caught !!

The key is to look at the size of the hands... If that snapper was any close to the camera, you would be getting poked in the eye right now.

It always amazes me that people can and do weigh and measure fish on the Internet.

Good catch:sunglasses:

As you can see no gaff on the cobia, I used boga grips just in case the fish wasn’t of size. 34" and this ws the gentleman’s first salt water fish. I respectively would have release it.
