after fishing saturday a buddy of mine went back out on sunday landed 2 22" and 23" a handfull of shorts and lost a twin to the two 26"ers caught on sat due to a tangled net, (that problem has since been done away with),
wed was non stop for us, wind was just too much for us to handle so as bad as i hated to we headed to the towers and tied up, lines in at 6 through 5 dz by 830 two keepers and lost count of the shorts. check out the hunch back in the pic. weird fish. lol. tried for another hour with already chewed up baits but they wouldn’t have anything to do with them, felt kinda bad for the other two boats there, they weren’t catching anything and we had doubles and trips on at times, gotta love those line counters:wink:
and today i lost my stud, fishing was rather slow windy as all get out but managed approx 10 shorts. i looked at the phone and said another 30 min and were gone, soon after DEEP line screams off and in a matter of 2 seconds has already taken 30’ off the reel, set the hook immediatly new it was big, cleared the rest of the poles and begun the battle, at one point in time the fish had 230’ of line out managed to get him back to 80’ in about 10 min and then “spit” out comes the hook, buddy said i turned green…lol…looked like i was gonna be sick and believe me i was, the 18 1/2 we caught last year didn’t compare to the fight this one had put on. the whole time i just knew it was going over 20# but i guess we will never know,
we’ve had them pretty dialed in for the last month or so hope to keep it up. its strange how you can put a bait at “61’” and get loads of bites, put that same pole at 60’ or 62’ and get nothing. it doesn’t make sense but these little things have made the difference over the past few weeks. sorry for the long read, pix is from wed 7/29.
Awesome job!! Must be nice!!
