7-7-13 fishing

My dad brother and I made it out on the water for most of the day on Saturday. We decided to help our odds and get a few mud minnows and have a little fun.

Water temperature was in the mid 80’s, water was dirty…

We managed to catch the inshore slam with a bonus of a small black drum on a popping cork and a croaker on a gulp.

Great day just having fun with my dad and brother.

I don’t have photo bucket to post pics up here, but we put some up on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fishteamkirby?ref=hl

Need some help…

We found some fish on low tide that would not eat anything. They weren’t schooled up tightly, it was just a dozen or so fish just cruising the bank.

What are some options for getting them to bite???

Not to insult, but are you sure they were reds? Large mullet can sometimes be mistaken for redfish. Mullet will tend to stick around even after you throw bait around them, reds usually spook easily not to be seen again.

Good looking fish! All I could muster was a dozen or so 9" spots…like I said on IG, I’ve got my spot picked out for 2015!

There’s a fine line between fishing and sitting in the boat like an idiot

Sailfish, they were reds… A couple of times they blew out kicking up mud and leaving a U shaped wake instead of the V shape wake mullet make.
