I hadn’t trolled in a few weeks so stayed up all night getting boat ready and rigging baits. My buddy and his family come in town once a year for a trolling trip with me and it has always been fun. Left the dock early. Started on the ledge and within 5 minutes had a 35lb wahoo on and then in the boat. Had our biggest mahi 10 minutes later and then 1 more before the bite slowed. Starting heading south a good bit to get away from the boats trolling too close to each other. Around 1 or 2 found a good area that was holding fish. Had a few short strikes and then a 20lb wahoo. Then another 2 dolphin. Then the 51 lb wahoo made our day. All three of the guys caught a wahoo and my buddy Doug had the 51 lber which was best fish of his life and first wahoo. All different colors got hit and different positions in the spread. Trolled back north til 6 and had no more bites after 3. Water temp stayed same all day at 80 and no real distinct edges or rips, just 150-220 ft all day.
Finished with 4 mahi and 3 wahoo.

Got to bed late after being so tired and up at 10 to go diving. Ocean was even nicer yesterday than tuesday which was great. Dove a few different spots and the vis and thermocline varied from spot to spot which was odd considering how close a few of them were to each other. Had 60ft vis and no thermo on my first dive and the fish were there. Poor vis and thermo on next spot and the lobsters were there. Stayed out til 9 doing a research project and got back way late.
Ended with 3 solid gags
2 nice spinys about 8lb
1 big trigger and few sea bass
Good time on the ocean last few days and time to rest

Aw heck Fishn, sleepy or not I’m still impressed! I just get bored trolling when its slow and would rather wrestle some bottom stuff so i generally miss the afternoon bite. Glad you got on it.

Sir Charles! We are still buzzing from the trip. Way to handle it like a pro out there. The 2:15 AM wakeup call was pretty painful and a little disorienting but having the hooks in the water by 6 and gettin that first hit only moments later eased the pain for sure. Shout out to Eric as well. You fellas run a legit operation out there.
