I don’t get it. The forecast was saying that it wold be 35+ knt winds and these idiots still went, and decided that it would be good to take a 4 year old and a 79 year old out there with them??? By the way, I took a stroll to the beach that day and the lifeguard flags were up for “no swimming” and surf was nasty. There were whitecaps as far as you could see. The wind was honking. No need for the speculators on this thread, I can tell you right now that this wasn’t a “pop up” storm. This was forecasted several days before to be “windy, stormy, and rainy”. We were going to take the boat out in the ICW on Sat and cancelled our plans on Thursday because of the forecast.
You are correct. This wasn’t a “window of opportunity” here. This was flat out DUMBA$$. Can’t fix stupid. Very sad for their loss but glad that at least 7 made it.

Was poking fun at our bs bsb closure that is happening on Monday and all the crazies that may brave adverse conditions in the name of a few bsb. On a side note does anyone know if say you have two adults on board with fishing licences and two youth that are under the age of 16 can you catch 2 limits or 4?
Limit is technically per person… Youth under the age of 16 do not need a license, so yes, they are allowed to catch their own limit. It would be 4 limits total for 2 adults and 2 youths.
I saw an iterview on TV tonight with some of the survivers and it seemed as they were Cuban, I think thay fish in this kind of weather there!
That or they try to enter the country in this type of weather!
