Caught him just east of camanche, he hit a pink skirt with ballyhoo. When he hit the lure he was airborne. Great fight!I have a video coming. Almost kept the shark thinking it was a short fin, when we got back we looked it up and it was a long fin.We also caught a little tunny and lost a hoo.

i made the mistake of dragging one on the boat to get my lure back, was eventful to say the least.

You mean the day i almost lost my hand! We had a small failure to communicate! haha

Yes we boated it to get the lure and it bit clean through my salt water hosedown line! That will teach me a lesson!

You should have eaten it. It was almost certainly a shortfin. Longfins are almost black in color and dont frequent costal waters.

If it was a longfin its pec fins should look like huge rounded flippers. Shortfin makos still have very long pec fins. Put the pics up I would love to see them if it was a longfin.
