Took me a week to get registered to post, but here we go.
Headed out 5/15 at 4:30 am from the Cut to get our a@# handed to us.At 150’ decided to drop lines and head toward 226. Very slow morning with one small cuda. At noon decided to start trolling toward home and that is when it started for about the next two hours in 220’ of water. First a small dolphin, then the wire line with a 20 lb wahoo. We then managed a couple more nice dolphin before the day maker hit. The way back went off screaming, so we cleared all lines and the fight was on. Two Coors Lights and two buds for my “First Mate” later we had the fish to the boat. Then with one gaff to the head and one to the tail we got the big wahoo in the boat. Next problem he would not fit in the fish box. So we shoved as much of him in the box as possible and made Santo sit on the lid till the fish died and we could get him in the fish bag, second problem. He was about 12" too long for the fish bag, but we managed. Finished the day with a double hook up of dolphin.
Total for the day two wahoo and six dolphin, Took the big hoo to Haddrells for an offical weigh in, 77.5. What a day maker.
