That striper fishery up that way has got to be one of the greatest come back successes of all time. When I moved south in the late 70’s that striper fishery was in a serious decline.
I’ve always wondered what an eel would do in fresh water for stripers. Of course, live isn’t an option here in Columbia, but this is the time of year I start trolling with the down riggers and have considered trying a swimming eel just for kicks.
I’ve seen your post about trolling bunker spoons for stripers in one of the other forums. Are you also familiar with the old Alou eels that were popular years ago in the NE? Looks like they haven’t made them for ages, but I am going to try and find one, or something similiar, and try it just to see.

Never heard of those, I do however love trolling surgical tubing on wire line, killer for the big fat girls. I’m actually in the process of moving back to NJ. Just couldn’t find any payin work in Charleston and I was outta $$$. Lookin forward to this fishery again. Can’t wait to go Toggin in November, awesome
