8-10-13

We left an empty landing at wappoo around 5:00. Ran out to 130ft.and started fishing. A double hook up of hoo at 140ft. We trolled on out to 240ft. picking up hoo #3. Went on out to 290ft.turned around and picked up hoo #4 in 200ft. Had a few dolphin come through the spread, with 1 hit and no takers. We released one cuda and brought lines in at 140ft. Last Saturday we had a major bait problem but had no problems this weekend. Can anyone tell me what the tripod rig outside the jetties to the south is?

Nice catch.

saw the rig out there yesterday looked like a tug on stilts… probably will hold some fish here in a few days

Nice catch! How was the ocean.

heard it was a dredge pumphouse

It was choppy going out. We ran out about 24 kts. Great trolling weather. We ran in about 30 kts. getting a little wet. Couldn’t go fast enough to outrun the spray without roughing up the crew and loosening up screws. The chickens are in charge of laying eggs for fish batter.

thanks for report , great pictures

Dredge pumphouse huh? Looked like a great weekend getaway.

Nice pic. Did the wahoo hit surface baits or sub-surface (downrigger?)

Both…

WAHOO!

Lots of good eats right there!

Very nice work!

Nice haul! straight out?

It is an army corp of engineers sampling barge. My buddy is working on it. They are drilling core holes and sampling the material for dredging study purposes. 24 hour crew.

Thanks for the info on the drilling rig.
