Hunted opening morning with high hopes of catching a nice tree nap and enjoying the sunrise. Before daylight even broke the deer were moving and didn’t stop until I got down at 9, saw 11 does and 3 nice bucks but they didn’t stop long enough to really look them over.
The next evening I got in the stand around 6 and sat watching the trees blow in all directions until 8 when I noticed a small 4 pt come out at 200 yards. Picked up the gun when I noticed another rack coming out of the woods behind him thus began the parade of bucks. Within a 2 minuets I had 9 bucks were in front of me, counting tines and looking at bellies in a moving heard of deer is something I have never experienced it was incredible. Once I shot I heard a solid thud and deer ran everywhere so I had no direction to start looking but was convinced that blood would be everywhere which turned out to be not the case.
After 2 hours of looking and much help from some great people. It turned out the deer had gone into the woods and run straight towards the stand bleeding only a few drops as it died 70 yards from where it was shot. 9pt 190lbs
