First post on charleston fishing, fished the stono near limehouse area Friday after all the rain. Decided I would take advantage of the 6.5 high tide and overcast skies. Got to my spot a little late but managed to get on 6 or 8 reds tailing and feeding pretty aggressively, made bad cast on a few and spooked them. Finally put my gulp shrimp with no weight right on his nose and BAM! Hooked up! Ending up being 27 inches. Decided that I should probably put my girl on a fish since she was in the boat twiddling her thumbs, so both of us got out of the boat and decided to walk around. We got about 100 yards from the boat chasing fish and I hear something thrashing around in the grass so I turn around and see my girls rod that she put out with out me even knowing with some quartered crab bent over! So she ran back to the boat and reeled in a nice 22 inch red. After that the tide got too low and the fish dissapeared. Not a bad evening despite the nasty weather and a steady 10 mph breeze!
Great story. Fishin is always better w/ your kids.
Any pics?
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Everyone knows there are no fish in the Stono and CERTAINLY no flats.

It was a blast, stono has been my backyard since I was a little boy, my favorite river to fish
I have pics on my iPhone but can’t seem to upload them??? Any suggestions?
email them to your computer. posting isn’t too difficult.
click the “reply to topic” link in the upper right when your reading a post and there’s a link for “insert image file” at the bottom of the window that comes up.
They have to be less than 5 MB. if they’re too big you can edit them w/ something like paint and crop them.
10mph breeze… man I PRAY for 10mph breezes…

Dont forget that if folks can tell where you were by the background in your pics they will be all in your spot soon. Use photo bucket to edit the photos and keep your spot safe.

Paranoid much?
I always laugh when I see people photoshoping the background of their pictures.
I don’t take pictures unless all you see is water or the boat in the background. Last time I took my buddy fishing that also goes fishing I saw him in my spot with new people in the boat just about every day for a week straight. Needless to say I can’t go there with out someone being there and when i do get to fish it I don’t catch anything anymore. Lol.
yea, my spots have taken me years to find. I dont think it is fair for me to do all the work and someone else get all the benefits because they saw it online. Therefore, Ill keep on editing them and those that laugh can keep on laughing. Atleast I know my spots wont be full of internet anglers.

It’s not that you protect your fishing spots. It’s that you have a grown man in his underwear under your post.

Another thing I’ve noticed on many of the photos posted here that a lot of people don’t seem to realize. When you take a picture with a smart phone or smart camera and upload it straight to the internet, there is a meta-data tag imbedded in the photo that includes time, date, lat/lon and other information. There are browser add-ons that allow you to view the meta-data tags of photos and you can get the exact position, time and date where the fish was caught.
If you don’t disable the GPS or strip out the meta-data, you are giving away your spots to more people than you think

That is correct ^ There are settings on your phone to disable this option. Do it.
