8/17 - 8/18

Headed to Georgetown on Friday morning and worked our way out to the mouth of the North Santee after having some difficulty catching bait. We threw out all manner of live and cut bait but didn’t have any takers. We did manage to get some bites from some slot reds on the falling tide on a mud minnow under a popping cork, but we lost more than we caught.

Saturday morning we headed out to Murrells Inlet and spent most of the day fishing the jetties. Although we did see a couple people catch a fish here and there (including one massive flounder) our day was filled with ribbonfish and black sea bass. The only worthwhile fish we caught all day was an under-slot red. Nice to get out on the water, but it would’ve been better if the fish would cooperate. :face_with_head_bandage:
