8/17 Night

The final hooray has occured. To be honest with you I kinda felt bad on the way home thinking I will never fish this boat again, after we have been through so much together. I have really poured alot of blood and sweat into the boat, but hey o well i will get over it. Now to the fishing.

Coming across the dam it looked like it was going to be a beautiful night, and as always as soon as the boat is in the water here comes the wind. Radar looked ok though as everything seemed to be moving north, but as we watched it a big storm just seemed to develop out of nowhere on the radar.

We hadn’t been fishing too long and already had 4 fish in the boat and was still marking a lot but decided to head for land. Went and picked up some adult beverages, (figured we may need something to persuade us to get back out there…lol) There was no way i was missing this last opportunity to fish this boat.

Picked up some drinks and headed back out; wind had pretty much stopped and turned into a great night. But the rain still showed up and soaked us pretty good. The fish were biting though. Caught another 6 to finish off our limit.

I never really looked at the fish good as they were going in the box, but just kept sayin yea thats an ok fish, decent, not bad, etc… after the night was over smallest fish was 21" which were our first 2 fish. i told tom they were “stevearinos”, but didn’t get a good look at them, so they may have been a lil big to call them that…lol…

Don’t know where the small fish bite was but wasn’t missing it at all. was marking a ton of fish mixed in massive pods of bait around 23-30’ so maybe they were up in there. Water temp was down to 83.

All in all great night with a great friend. Big fish around 8#…Headed out now to start emptying the ole girl…

Nice! You deserve a good night fishing in that. I may give it a try tonight.

Nice, we decided to fish mid lake, it was a mistake. we fished from beaverdam to sandy beach. All we caught were a couple of steeverinos. Lots of bait and fish in 30-35 feet. got two nice blue cats there.

Wellcraft V-20 sportfish with a 200 Evinrude

that is a mighty good catch there! wish i had landed that many but was fun playing with some downriggers. you will be able to put even more blood, sweat and tears into your new boat, probably even more than the last one.
