With the massive 3 day Snapper season upon us we decided to launch the Down n’ Out in pursuit of the endangered Red Snapper and maybe a Black Sea Bass! Left the dock at 7 and the “Black Man” made it look easy with the first Red in the boat by 8:30. We picked at the Reds, Gags, B-Liners, Triggers and BSB all day! Stayed in 105’ . Great day on the Ocean!
3 Red Snapper
4 Gags
20 Grown BSB
Handful of B-Liners and Triggers
Super Nice guy - I gave him the dimensions and he fabricated the insertable bases and provided the rod holders. If you decide to have him make a few make sure you get reversed threads for the starboard side… This will prevent the holders from releasing with a big hit!
FYI - Dropped the heads off by SCDNR today. Super nice staff that indicated unfortunately they had not seen many recreational fisherman. They acknowledged the weather was bad today and iffy Saturday but Friday was nice. They were having to do most of their research with the help of the Commercial sector. It seems they are trying to gather data off the SC coast to see if it is possible to have a “real” snapper season!! Please don’t kill the messenger - just passing along the info!!
