Went out for a boat ride this afternoon, swung by the towers on the way back in around 5 and fished for about an hour with bait still kicking. Managed 6 or so all within about 20 min. Fish just turned on then turned back off. Had a couple nice fish around 24" so. Only one kept for dinner, rest swam away strong. All fish came from 40-50 ft.

hey texas angler; about what time did you fish: and how close to the towers if you do not mind. if you do then tell us anyway (**()it! LOL
SS - I didnt see to many floater only, a few. Actually had a floater pop up next to the boat when I first got there. The ones I saw were fairly small (18" or so). I only saw one nice one floating.
CB - I fished from about 5 to maybe 6:30. I moved around 25 to 100 yards out in front of the towers. I really dont think it makes too much difference. I think it’s just luck of the draw trying to cross paths with schools.

I fished again tonight, and brought home another 5. 4 were over 21 biggest being around 24". wanted to fish sunday but didn’t realize the bait stores closed so early on sundays. did manage to catch about a half dozen or so tonight on the sabiki. herring were coming all the way up to the top, my guess the striper were pushing them up. never turned on the depth finder so i don’t know what the water temp is but have started to catch some fish as shallow as 30’ so i guess this cooler weather has started to help them out some.
