Fished for the sails on Sunday with the tarpon king who was ready with his fly rod so we left one side of spread hookless all day. Nice ocean with scattered weeds everywhere beginning to line up. Fished the 300-400 line in about 200 to 300 feet. Only had one unknown fish come up on hookless side of spread behind dredge but angler was down below dropping the kids at the pool so fly was never deployed the whole trip. Bad timing for sure. The other side did better raising four sails and we jumped off two of them. Most action and bait on 300 line around 250’. Also jumped a big wahoo that cut us off in the air on his way back down as we crossed over the ledge. Took one king mackeral shortly thereafter and called it a day.
Dog,
How was the ocean?? I hope the weather cooperates.
Paul
Weather was great yesterday. 2-4 at the most and nicely spaced out. no storms near us.
thanks Capes! I had a great time and I am sure (yeah right?) we would have caught all 4 sails if “Backout Billy” didn’t live up to his name 30 minutes before we were suppose to leave. Tons a fun on a beautiful ocean plus believe it or not, that king mac tasted great last night.

if only you had filled the dredge with the top secret tarpon bait…
And replaced 2001 with zombie nation…
And sacrificed a chicken to aquaman,
Then perhaps you would have gotten that spindlebeak on the fly
See you in a few weeks
