Went out on the dropping tide tuesday after work. I caught finger mullet right away and followed the tide back into a feeder creek as it came back in. Hooked 3 redfish and landed 2, 1-18" and one stud at 31". The larger one pulled me around backwards until I finally staked out with my paddle to get some leverage. I carry a stakeout pole (painters roller extension pole) just for this reason but my last one got lost and I had not replaced it.
Friday put in at noon on the high tide and went to a hard bottom flat to wade for tailers. Hadn’t even gotten out of the boat yet and saw 2 within 3 minutes of arriving. Waded for 2 hours and saw probably 30 fish. The wind gave me a very hard time with effective presentation. Hooked 2 landed 0 using a twitch bait.
I have a Wilderness Systems Pungo 140. I like it because it is stable enough to stand up and pole and the cockpit is open so even after 4 or 5 hours I don’t get cramped up.
I tried to go yesterday (Sun 5) but it wasn’t much fun. The wind was blowing about 25 at high tide so all I got was 2 hours of exercise and very wet!
