8/4 4 Swords - 4 Dolphin

Left IOP earlier than planned after watching the ocean lay down nicely Friday evening. After getting a keeper sword in only a few hours on our last trip, we were eager to see if we could repeat. Another Full moon, bird dung on the bow and an errant spanish mackerel jumping in the boat when we stopped at a rest area in 60 feet left us certain lady luck was going to be on our side. Started dropping squid at midnight and before the third line was out, FISH ON. Went 4 for 5 on sword bites. Couldn’t keep lines in the water or catch any shut eye, which is a good thing. Drifted along at 3 knots and covered a lot of water.

Started trolling at sunrise in 1200 ft and stopped when we hit 150ft, with only 4 slingers and a few hoo cut offs to show for our daytime efforts. Called it a day and beat the storm back to the dock mid afternoon Saturday.

Nice job!

Nice! I saw ya’ll when I was coming back to the dock on the big Jupiter that is kept a few docks down. Were the bites up top or down deep?

Nice work again- that boat looks like a good setup with TONS of space- where your 4 fish all keepers or any smalls?

Really Nice,Great going on the broad-bills

Big congrats on the day or should I say the night! Really like the layout of the boat what kind is she?

-Wishes Charlotte was 3 hours closer to the ocean…-

Thanks guys.
2 of the 3 that were released were of keeper size but not any bigger than what we already had in box…and were hoping for some larger ones due to the hot bite.

The boat is a 33 Rum Runner

Good going. Night like that would have turned into a rum breakfast.

Matthew 6:5

It was a Corona Breakfast

Cheers on not keeping any of the other small swords. I’ll stick a legal fish any day but no need to keep a bunch of marginal sized fish.

That shows an understanding and love for fishing to me!

Congrats on the swords!

I have never been swordfishing but want to go badly… to hear this alleged “click… click click click… click click click click click…” while I sip my wine and eat tapas 'til finally I hear that bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! lol - that is what my plans are at least…

Get my over improved boat back this week and will head out on sword mission whenever weather permits I suppose.

Keep up the good work with those swords & other sea creatures.
