Fished down south in 85-115ft on saturday. Went 1 for 2 on sails, caught a slinger bull, 1 king, and a handful of bonita. The s**t hit the fan coming home about 9 miles from the rocks. went from 1 to 2 foot to 6 foot breakers in 40knot winds in less than a half mile. Rode it out at 10 knots just keeping the bow quartered into it for 35 minutes before it finally died. Hope all the other boats I saw out there made it back to port safely, b/c that was one of the sportiest storms I’ve seen in a little boat. The sail was caught on a dink bait behind the daisy chain on 20# spin gear.
Nice job on the sail! And yes the dinks do work! Had a sail hooked up for a few mins on a dink but jumped him off. Thought we had dropped it back to her long enough but obviously not as she did one spectacular jump and off she went. That storm was something else. I thought about you as we came in around 3:15 but I figured being in shore you probably headed in early.

Nice work with the spin gear. Sure is more fun. We’re headed out Friday and hope to get some stick fish ourselves.
where we came threw it at started at 19 miles off and went all the way till round 3 miles off and we were hitin waves between 8 - 12 foot almost the entire time
Thanks skinnee. Had I had someone else on the boat who knew how to fish it would have multiple sails instead of one. Had 2 others than the 2 we hooked up in the baits…hard to drive, rig, and pitch to sails at the same time. Better to be lucky than good!!!

So are you actually admitting you missed having big brother around on this trip:wink: Just kidding…glad you guys had a good time and glad the boat came back in one piece. Well…at least most of it did:face_with_head_bandage:
Brotherly Love! I meant to call you since your brother told me that you would be fishing and he thought you would need an extra hand. Good Job on the sails.
