Team HOOYAH weighed an 87.88 lb wahoo in the Martinis HOOK A HOO RODEO yesterday. Thats gonna be hard to bump but we know bigger ones are out there.

Makos must have been thick, we got one too and hooked up with two others.

I know of 4 boats that hooked up with Makos. They seemed to be everywhere!!

Red and black trolling feathers six to eight ounce with a horse ballyhoo is what both of ours came on trolled way back on the long rigger about seven or eight mph.

Two boats reported being hooked up to rather large MAKOS, 6-8 fters. Said they did alot of jumping…especially close to the boat. Broke them off. In all my years fishing off the SC coast Ive never heard of so many being seen at one time over such a small area. Guess the conditions were perfect for them?

nice catch! just curious what are the rules on the makos? can you keep more than one a day? how big do they need to be? or are there even any rules at all?

The one I saw was carved up and will be eaten. Hopefully Im gonna get a piece? Not sure what the Regs are on size and all.

I had the pleasure of eating some of this Mako, and it was very good, I pan fried this with EVO and Lemon Pepper,Don’t pass up this fine table fare.
