'89 70 h.p. Johnson trim/tilt?

Tilt stays up, and will not come down?(motor runs up and down but will not come down without bleeding the side screw). Any suggestions, or pitch it and find another unit??

I heard on tv the other day that if your unit stays up for more than four hours, that you should consult a doctor. And bleeding it sounds kind of painful..

probably not worth spending alot of money fixing the tilt unit
I would look for a freshwater used trim unit, and just replace the entire assembly.
the shuttle valve is probably stuck
