9/11 Silent Walk over the bridge

I was fortunate enough to participate with the Red Cross in helping support this event this morning. Let me tell you, it was humbling. There were 343 “official” registrants, one for each firefighter killed on 9/11. Of course, there were many more… All told, there were probably 600-700 firefighters in full gear who walked over and back, plus another 200-300 walkers in support.

I know this event was not publicized too heavily, but it was a great success. I think this year may have been a bit of test for future, bigger memorial walks. Please thank a firefighter and remember this event for next year!

Thanks for helping out.Yes this was something I had not even heard about. This morning on the News I think they said there were only about or less than Ten folks last year.I was proud to be from this area. They stated that some Firefighters had come from as far as California to attend.
