We put in at daylight and headed to the shrimping grounds. Got the poles set in somewhat of a straight line and we were shrimping by 745. First pass was rough, I couldn’t drive the boat and my boy throws the net on top of first pole. After knocking the rust off we were on it. First three passes we had over a 1/4 of nice size shrimp and it stayed pretty steady for us but they got smaller as time went on. Around 9am it really started blowing, but we fought it for another hour before we decided to call it at 10, as the conditions got really bad. We ended with almost a cooler of a decent mix of large, medium and small. After the adventure of picking up poles in 3 ft seas we took off to hide behind an island for a min. Ride back to the landing was a little rough but we made it back safe with almost a full cooler in under four hours in the worst conditions I’ve ever shrimped in. Pretty good day!!
Started beautiful but don’t stay that way long!
Boy is a work horse! He can throw that 8ft net like a pro and doesn’t slow down even in the worst conditions. He’s also young!!
Sits down and says, let’s go make another pass!!
Only part of process that he dose t smile about!
